Job summary

Krank is seeking a Senior QA Automation Lead to define, lead, and scale QA across our SaaS ecosystem. You will own the automation architecture, drive a culture of automation, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to ensure fast, predictable, high-quality releases.

You will mentor QA engineers, build scalable frameworks for web (React/Next.js), mobile (Appium/Detox), and API testing, and shape how quality is embedded across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Experience with a strong background in QA Automation.
• Hands-on automation experience with Playwright or Cypress and React/Next.js testing.
• Mobile automation experience via Appium/Detox or similar frameworks.
• API testing proficiency with Postman, REST Assured, Supertest, or Insomnia.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Ability to build and document automation frameworks from scratch and mentor teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Exposure to reporting tools (Allure, ReportPortal, Extent Reports).
• Bachelor's or higher in IT management, software development, computer engineering, or computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition to automation-first QA with regression coverage.

About the Role:

The Senior QA Automation Lead will define, lead, and scale quality assurance across our product ecosystem. This role combines hands-on test automation with QA strategy, process optimization, and team leadership. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to ensure our releases are fast, predictable, and high quality. Reporting to the CTO, you will own the QA automation architecture and guide how quality is built into the entire development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the overall QA strategy, quality standards, and roadmap.
• Build and maintain a scalable automation framework for:
  • Web UI (React + Next.js)
  • Mobile testing for React Native (iOS & Android) using Appium/Detox
  • API automation for Node.js services
• Lead the transition towards an automation-first QA culture with strong regression coverage.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
• Define structured test processes, defect workflows, and release readiness checkpoints.
• Implement automated reporting, test dashboards, and quality KPIs.
• Mentor and upskill manual and automation QA engineers.
• Work closely with engineering leads to enhance code quality, test coverage, and system reliability.
• Ensure that quality is built into the development process from the start rather than inspected at the end.
• Support continuous improvement in product performance and stability.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on automation experience with:

• Playwright or Cypress
• React / Next.js testing
• Mobile automation (Appium, Detox, or similar)
• API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, Supertest, Insomnia
• Experience integrating automation in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)
• Proficiency with reporting tools (Allure, ReportPortal, Extent Reports, etc.)
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• Ability to document, teach, and handover frameworks confidently
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, PMs, and designers
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong ownership mindset
• Degrees such as IT management, software development, computer engineering, or computer applications can also provide value
• 5+ years of Experience with a strong background in QA Automation

Nice to Have:

• Testing experience with offline-first apps, large media files, or inspection workflows
• Experience with smart glasses/wearables
• Knowledge of workflows in equipment management, dealerships, marketplaces, or industrial inspections
