Job summary

International Labour Organization in Islamabad seeks a Senior Programme Officer to coordinate the DWCP, oversee the Programme Team, and engage tripartite partners to advance decent work standards.

The role focuses on social dialogue, governance reforms, and strengthening institutional capacity. Excellent English and Urdu, plus a university degree and at least three years of relevant experience, are required.

Qualifications

• University degree in a field relevant to the job.
• Minimum of three years of professional work experience in programme and/or project planning, monitoring, implementation and evaluation.
• Excellent command of English and Urdu.
• Good knowledge of programming and results-based management (RBM) principles and concepts.
• Good knowledge of the programming cycle (planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation).
• Knowledge of resource mobilization.

Responsibilities

• Provide inputs for formulation and implementation of the DWCP and ensure alignment with national priorities and tripartite needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the Programme Team and project managers, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
• Monitor programme implementation against workplans, budgets, indicators and timelines; identify challenges and propose corrective actions.
• Facilitate engagement among government, employers’ and workers’ organizations to strengthen social dialogue and tripartite cooperation.
• Support capacity-building for government institutions and social partners; document achievements and lessons learned.
