Job summary

The ILO Country Office for Pakistan, within the Programme Team, seeks a Senior Programme Officer to coordinate and oversee programme delivery in line with the DWCP and ILO strategies. The incumbent will engage with government bodies, employers’ and workers’ organizations, and partners to promote decent work and capacity building.

Under direct supervision of the Country Director, the officer will supervise the Programme Team, contribute to resource mobilization, and ensure effective monitoring,

Qualifications

• Three years of professional experience in programme/project planning and evaluation.
• Experience in resource mobilization is desirable.
• Strong English and Urdu language skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inputs for DWCP formulation and implementation aligned with national priorities and tripartite needs.
• Coordinate and supervise the Programme Team and project managers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor progress against workplans, budgets and indicators; identify and address implementation challenges.
• Facilitate social dialogue among government, employers and workers to strengthen tripartite cooperation.
• Support technical cooperation on labour legislation, policy reform and capacity development with stakeholders.
• Promote freedom of association, collective bargaining and non-discrimination in line with the ILO mandate.
• Coordinate DWCP priorities, including OSH, employment, skills development and social protection.
• Develop partnerships with government, social partners, UN agencies and donors to mobilize resources.
• Prepare and review programme documents; liaise with Operations for delivery and compliance.
