Job summary

Mashreq Bank PSC is seeking an experienced Observability Engineer to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of critical systems. You will implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing across services and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce MTTRs.

You will develop and refine observability frameworks, work with AppDynamics/DataDog/Splunk/ELK/Sentry, and drive KPI-based improvements while guiding end-users and teams on best practices for APM and performance

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT infrastructure and applications experience.
• 3-5 years hands-on in observability and CI.
• 2 years programming background in Java.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills to align the organization on complex decisions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and stakeholders to understand monitoring requirements and performance goals.
• Identify KPIs, diagnose issues, and proactively optimize performance.
• Develop observability frameworks, tools, and processes for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Ensure availability, scalability, and reliability of infrastructure and deployment environments.
• Implement and manage monitoring tools (AppDynamics/DataDog/Splunk/ELK/Sentry) to gain insights.
• Provide reports on application performance, highlighting insights and trends.
• Collaborate with digital squads to implement performance improvements, including code and infra changes.
• Offer guidance and training on APM best practices.
