Smart Working is seeking a Senior NodeJS Developer to join a high‑performing Product & Engineering team. You will design, develop, and deliver scalable, real‑time, data‑driven SaaS applications with a focus on backend excellence and architecture.

You will mentor peers, champion engineering best practices, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align delivery with business goals. Remote‑first, international teams, strong ownership culture.

Qualifications

• Develop and maintain scalable NodeJS/TypeScript apps with MongoDB and Docker.
• Contribute across full SDLC from design to deployment and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning.
• Review designs and help improve engineering quality.
• Identify risks early and drive CI/CD, testing, observability, and security.
• Design scalable backend systems and APIs for real-time data platforms.
• Mentor peers and promote ownership and continuous improvement.
• Experience with NestJS, React, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
• Familiar with event-driven architectures, containers, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable applications using NodeJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, Docker and related technologies.
• Contribute hands-on across the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, QA, and product stakeholders to deliver features.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Review technical designs and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and architectural considerations early.
• Drive CI/CD, testing, observability, security and code quality practices.
• Contribute to architectural strategy and scalable backend design decisions.
• Build real-time, data-intensive platform capabilities and on-call support.
• Mentor peers and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
