Job Description

The Senior Medical Officer (Anesthesia) is responsible for delivering safe and effective anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical and medical procedures. The role involves pre‑operative patient assessment, administration and monitoring of anesthesia, management of perioperative care, and post‑operative recovery monitoring. The incumbent works closely with consultants, surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety, clinical excellence, and compliance with hospital protocols and professional standards. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the SMO Anesthesia participates in emergency response activities, departmental administration, research initiatives, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs. The position requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, adherence to ethical and professional practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced hospital environment. Candidates should possess an MBBS degree with completed FCPS/MCPS training, a valid medical license, and relevant experience in anesthesia or hospital‑based clinical practice.

Qualifications

Qualification: MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution, with complete training in FCPS/MCPS. Must hold a valid medical license and registration.
