The Medical Officer Emergency Room is responsible for providing timely, ethical, and quality medical care to emergency patients by assessing patients, taking and documenting history in SOAP format, coordinating with SMOs/consultants for patient management, maintaining accurate records in the FOTIS system, and ensuring proper medication orders, investigations, shifting, and discharge procedures. The MO must remain present in the ER during duty hours, follow assigned timings, uniform, infection-control and aseptic practices, monitor patient care and paramedical staff, obtain informed consent before procedures, counsel patients and attendants regarding treatment and charges, comply with hospital policies, and actively participate in clinical and CME meetings.
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized medical institution. Valid medical license and registration with the relevant medical council or regulatory authority.
1–2 years of clinical experience, with specific experience in emergency medicine or an acute care setting preferred.
