Job summary

HireOn is partnering with a leading client in Lahore to recruit a Backend Engineer (Java Spring Boot) who will design, build, and scale high-performance backend services. You will own features end-to-end, implement robust REST APIs, and ensure security and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams, apply Clean Architecture, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, Docker deployments, and database design using MySQL.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development experience with Java & Spring Boot.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security.
• REST API design and development.
• Advanced SQL skills with MySQL (optimization, indexing, tuning).
• Hands-on experience with Liquibase.
• Experience with Redis caching.
• Experience with RabbitMQ / event-driven architecture.
• Concurrency, scalability, and system performance understanding.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Job Summary

This role requires strong ownership, deep backend expertise, and the ability to design resilient, secure, and scalable services in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities Backend Development & System Design

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17 and Spring Boot
• Build robust RESTful APIs with versioning, validation, and error handling
• Implement Clean Architecture principles with strong domain separation
• Follow modular and layered architectural patterns
• Own features end-to-end from design to production support

Database & Data Management

• Design and optimize MySQL schemas, queries, and indexing strategies
• Manage schema versioning and database changes using Liquibase
• Execute reliable database migrations across environments
• Ensure data integrity and transactional consistency in concurrent systems

Performance, Caching & Messaging

• Implement caching strategies using Redis
• Develop asynchronous workflows using RabbitMQ or messaging systems
• Build and manage background jobs and schedulers
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and race conditions

Security, Reliability & Monitoring

• Implement backend security using Spring Security
• Apply authentication and authorization best practices
• Maintain logging, monitoring, and auditing for system reliability

DevOps & Deployment

• Work with Docker and Docker Compose
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Manage environment configurations across staging and production
• Support deployment and maintenance workflows

Collaboration & Engineering Excellence

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of backend development experience with Java & Spring Boot
• Strong expertise in:
