Job summary

AutoScale Ventures in Lahore (On-site) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve large-scale backend systems for production use. You’ll lead system-level design, implement critical components, and mentor junior engineers to deliver high-impact projects.

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Gulberg III, Lahore, Pakistan (On-site)

Job Type: Full-time

Work Hours: 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM Pakistan Time

Salary: 500,000 PKR net salary/month (excluding tax)

Role Overview

Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering or architecture, with a strong backend focus.
• Proven track record of designing and maintaining production systems used by real users.
• Experience designing APIs and backend systems at scale.
• Strong systems thinking: performance, scalability, failure modes, and maintainability.
• Ability to work autonomously and make high-impact technical decisions.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) for productivity and code quality.

Nice to Have

• Experience evolving legacy systems.
• Background in data-heavy systems (feeds, crawlers, analytics pipelines).
• Infrastructure, scalability, and performance tuning experience.
• Mentoring mid- and senior-level developers.
  Python experience is a plus.
