Job description

About You

You’re a calm, methodical problem-solver who loves keeping people productive and systems secure. You document as you go, automate repetitive work, and communicate clearly with engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike. You’re hands‑on with Microsoft 365/Entra, Intune, and UniFi, and you take pride in clean baselines, reliable Wi‑Fi/VPN, and fast incident recovery.

Responsibilities

Administer Microsoft 365 / Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams) and Entra ID (Azure AD) including MFA, Conditional Access, and SSO integrations.
Own endpoint management with Intune/Autopilot for Windows and macOS (enrollment, compliance, configuration profiles, app lifecycle, BitLocker/FileVault).
Operate and optimize UniFi Dream Machine firewall, UniFi switches/APs (VLANs, guest Wi‑Fi, VPN, DHCP/DNS), including config backups and firmware policy.
Provide L2 deskside support for Windows/macOS developer laptops (hardware diagnostics, OS rebuilds, drivers/firmware, complex app issues, warranty/RMA).
Maintain backup & restore for M365 (mail/SharePoint/OneDrive) and critical endpoints/servers; define and test RTO/RPO quarterly.
Implement and monitor security hygiene (EDR/Defender, patch compliance, local admin audits, certificate/key management), and collaborate on vulnerability remediation.
Set up and maintain monitoring/alerting (e.g., PRTG/Zabbix/Grafana/M365 health), keep runbooks current, and execute changes via documented windows.
Script automation and reporting (PowerShell/Bash) to reduce toil and improve compliance.
Run incident/problem/change (ITIL-lite), track SLA performance, and publish weekly service health dashboards.
Coordinate vendor support (ISPs, UniFi, device RMAs) and manage IT assets/licenses across their lifecycle.
Provide timely technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues across the organization.
Manage and maintain all IT assets, including laptops, desktops, peripherals, servers, and networking equipment, ensuring accurate documentation and lifecycle tracking.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and tools required by employees.
Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes by setting up and revoking IT access, email accounts, and relevant software permissions.
Implement and maintain regular data backups, system updates, and security patches to ensure IT hygiene and compliance.

Skills & Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience as a System Engineer or a similar technical role.
Strong understanding of hardware, operating systems (Windows/Mac), networks, and commonly used business applications.
Systems/endpoint administration with Microsoft 365 + Entra ID and Intune/Autopilot (Windows and macOS) in a software/tech environment.
Practical experience with managing firewalls network devices including APs and switches.
Proven backup/restore discipline for Microsoft 365 and endpoints/servers.
Experience with security basics including MFA/conditional access, patching cadence, EDR/Defender, least‑privilege, and certificate management.
Hands‑on experience with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and lifecycle planning.
Prior experience managing IT procurement workflows and coordinating with vendors.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365/Google Workspace, VPN, firewalls, and network configurations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in handling employee queries and support requests.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
A proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high‑quality service delivery.
Strong PowerShell, Bash experience and IT certifications would be a big plus.
