Job summary

Soum is seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and microservices powering our marketplace.

You will work with Node.js, TypeScript, and Nest.js, building APIs and inter-service communication with gRPC while ensuring performance, reliability, and clean code. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data models in MongoDB and PostgreSQL and contribute to CI/CD in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4–5+ years of hands-on backend software development experience.
• Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Production experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and gRPC.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems with Node.js, TypeScript, and Nest.js.
• Build and manage scalable microservices architecture with focus on performance and reliability.
