Job summary

NexLoomix in Islamabad is seeking a Senior AI Scientist to research, prototype and productionize intelligent systems that move from experimentation into production.

You will design and develop applied AI and ML systems, explore generative AI techniques, build LLM-based solutions and retrieval architectures, and mentor engineers across product teams.

Collaborating with software engineers and designers, you will help define the technical direction for AI-driven products and document findings.

The role sits between applied research and product engineering and requires someone capable of turning emerging AI techniques into reliable, scalable products.

What you’ll work on

• Design and develop applied AI and machine learning systems.
• Research emerging techniques in generative AI and machine learning.

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
• Practical experience building AI and machine learning systems.
• Experience with modern LLM architectures and APIs.
• Understanding of embeddings, vector databases and retrieval systems.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or an equivalent framework.
• Experience evaluating models and AI systems.
• Familiarity with production APIs and backend systems.
• Understanding of data pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and experimentation skills.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with agentic AI systems.
• Experience fine-tuning or adapting language models.
