Job summary

Motive is seeking a Software Engineer — ML, Perception to join a team of researchers and engineers focused on making trucks safer and more productive. You will design and implement computer vision and ML solutions that analyze driving behavior and provide coachable events to reduce risk on the road.

You will develop edge and cloud components, write Python and C++ code, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable AI features used by millions of trucks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of algorithm development experience in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and ML.
• Strong Python or C++ skills and hands-on CV/ML experience.
• Experience deploying ML models on embedded devices is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve performance of models in production.
• Conduct research and experiments to build new AI models.
• Build and optimize CV/ML algorithms for real-time performance on embedded platforms.
• Write Python and C++ code for CV algorithms, ML services, and training pipelines.
• Translate research prototypes into product features.
• Collaborate with Embedded, Backend, Frontend, Hardware, QA, and AI teams.
• Solve object detection, segmentation, recognition, and CV challenges.
• Build deployment, validation, and active learning pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on complex projects.
