Sperton Global AS invites an experienced Senior Secondary Electrical Engineer (HV Substations) to join our team in Karachi. You will lead secondary engineering tasks for high‑voltage substations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers to deliver quality designs and technical deliverables.

The role emphasizes design of protection and control schemes, SLDs, and interface documents, with emphasis on IEC IFC/IFFE standards and potential renewables project experience.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and ETAP.
• Familiar with IFC and IFFE standards for HV substations; renewables experience is a plus.
• Strong reporting and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Secondary Engineering and Design of HV Indoor/Outdoor, AIS/GIS Substations up to 220kV.
• Design of secondary documents: SLDs, protection logics and interlocking diagrams.
• Prepare signal lists for SAS/SCADA, protection, alarm, event and fault recording.
• Check and interface supplier drawings (GIS/AIS, transformer, etc.).
• CT and VT sizing calculations and DC battery sizing calculations.
• Cable planning, schedules and interface documents for substation equipment.
• Assist in BOQ and technical proposals.

Job Title: Secondary Electrical Design Engineer (HV Substation)
Location: Karachi, Pakistan
Job Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Senior Secondary Electrical Engineer – HV Substations to join our engineering team and support the design and delivery of high-voltage substation projects. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in secondary engineering and protection/control systems for HV substations, with experience across indoor and outdoor AIS/GIS substations up to 220kV.

Experience in the renewable energy sector will be considered a strong advantage. The role requires a technically strong engineer who can work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and project stakeholders while producing high-quality engineering documentation and technical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Secondary Engineering and Design of HV Indoor/Outdoor, AIS/GIS Substations up to 220kV.

• Design of secondary basic documents, including SLD, Protection Logics Diagrams, and Interlocking Logic Diagrams

• Preparation of Signal Lists for SAS/SCADA, Protection, Alarm, Event & Fault recording signals.

• Checking & Interfacing of Supplier Drawings. (e.g. GIS/AIS Drawings, AC/DC System Drawings, Transformer Drawings, etc).

• CT and VT sizing calculations and DC battery sizing calculations.

• Cable Planning, schedules, and preparation of Interface documents (Termination Details) to integrate the substation equipment.

• Supporting the project team to prepare BOQ and technical proposals.

Key Requirements:

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering.

• 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Etap.

• Fully conversant with the latest IFC and IFFE standards and technologies on Secondary Engineering / Design of HV Substations (experience in Renewable sector would be a plus).

• Strong technical reporting & teamwork skills.
