Job description

Renewable Resources is looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Islamabad. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PSS®E software, Design of HV Power System or Power Plant Grid Station, transmission line design, electrical equipment sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and other relevant electrical studies.

Expertise

• HV Power System or Power Plant Grid Station Designing.
• Perform electrical equipment sizing to ensure appropriate selection for project requirements.
• Conduct cable sizing and voltage drop calculations to ensure reliable power distribution.
• Calculate load requirements and determine electrical component sizing (transformers, breakers, cables, etc.).
• Develop electrical design documents such as Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), layouts, technical specifications, and design criteria.
• Utilize PSS®E software to perform simulations and optimize electrical network performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop protection coordination, short circuit analysis, and voltage stability studies.
• Support feasibility studies, technical assessments, and conceptual design for new and existing transmission infrastructure.
• Prepare reports, technical documentation, and presentations on project findings.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor`s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in electrical design and power system analysis.
• Proficiency in PSS®E and other power system analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line design, load flow analysis, electrical equipment and cable sizing, and design documentation.
• Experience with fault analysis, reactive power compensation, and dynamic stability studies.
• Motivated professional with strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork skills and communication skills.
• Interested in working on renewable energy power projects, with experience in large-scale utility and captive applications.
• Focused on projects in both Pakistan and international markets.
