Job Description & Position Overview

The Robot Operator reports to the Automation Engineer. Responsibilities include operating 6-axis industrial robots (FANUC/KUKA), jogging axes via handheld teach pendant, teaching motion points, calibrating Tool Center Points (TCP), fixturing workpieces, resetting alarm codes, and cell safety.

• Operate 6-axis articulated industrial robotic welding and material handling cells.
• Jog robot arm in Joint, World, and Tool coordinate systems using handheld teach pendant.
• Teach and touch-up robot motion paths and program points in T1 manual mode.
• Calibrate Tool Center Point (TCP) and verify torch alignment and wire stick-out.
• Clamp and fixture raw components into pneumatic clamping jigs for automatic production.
• Respond to robot controller alarms, reset interlocks, and home the robot following E-stops.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance, contact tip replacement, nozzle cleaning, and safety checks.
• 6-Axis Industrial Articulated Robot Operation (FANUC, KUKA, ABB), Teach Pendant Navigation, Axis Jogging & Deadman Switch Control, Tool Center Point (TCP) Calibration & Coordinate Systems (World/Tool), Pneumatic Workpiece Fixturing & Automated Clamping Mechanics, Robotic MIG/MAG Welding Parameters & Torch Alignment Inspection, Controller Alarm Diagnostics, Collision Recovery & Axis Limit Resetting, Optical Safety Light Curtains, Interlocks & Robot Cell Safety Compliance, Welding Torch Contact Tip & Gas Shroud Preventive Maintenance
