Retail & Channel Business Development Manager (Pakistan)
I. Position Summary
As the Retail Business Development Manager (BDM) for Pakistan, you will be the driving force behind Kacific’s retail expansion and terminal activation strategy. Your primary mission is to convert the massive demand for satellite broadband in the Pakistan market into sustainable revenue.
You will manage the Kacific Authorized Distributor (KAD) network, oversee a dedicated Promoter team, and work closely with Internet Service Provider (ISP) partners to ensure that every lead becomes a high-quality, long-term activation.
In this role, you will also serve as a key link for regulatory alignment, ensuring that deployments comply with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) guidelines, licensing requirements, and spectrum policies.
II. Key Responsibilities
- Activation Velocity: Drive the month-on-month growth of new site activations for Gigstarter plans across Pakistan.
- Revenue Accountability: Take ownership of the Pakistan Gigstarter revenue targets and ensure timely cash collection from partners and clients.
- Funnel Conversion: Manage the sales pipeline by converting Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and ultimately closed activations.
- MSP Integration: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for the Managed Service Partner (MSP) in Pakistan, ensuring they meet deployment and support KPIs.
- Retail Network Expansion: Identify, recruit, and onboard new retail ISP partners and KADs in underserved regions to strengthen Kacific’s on-ground presence.
- Partner Sales Meetings: Coordinate and lead regular in-person partner sales meetings with key ISPs and KADs. Conduct structured partner reviews to track pipeline progress, identify high-value deployments, and convert opportunities into active sales.
- Capacity Building & Training: Conduct regular training sessions for retail partners on Kacific products, services, and solutions, with a focus on the technical and commercial benefits of Gigstarter plans.
3. Regulatory Coordination & Compliance
- PTA Alignment: Support ongoing coordination with the PTA to ensure all satellite broadband deployments and terminal activations comply with local licensing and spectrum regulations.
- Compliance Oversight: Stay updated on changes in Pakistan’s telecom policies to guide partners and ensure full compliance in retail operations.
4. Field Operations & Travel
- Regional Penetration: Travel extensively across Pakistan, especially in rural and underserved regions, to audit KAD performance and identify new ISP opportunities.
- On-ground Deployment: Be prepared to travel to remote areas where satellite connectivity is critical, providing support for complex installations and high-value activations.
- Promoter Management: Supervise and mentor the dedicated Promoter to maintain a consistent pipeline of at least 30–40 high-quality MQLs per month.
- Field Strategy: Plan and execute local roadshows and “Sales Days” in coordination with Marketing, the Promoter, and local KADs.
- Sales Funnel Management: Build, maintain, and track a structured sales funnel to manage key opportunities and volume deals.
III. Success Metrics
Success in this role will be measured against the following targets during the first 6 months:
- Month 1–2: 100% completion of Kacific product and process training, along with identification of 10+ high-potential retail zones, including priority districts and underserved connectivity clusters.
- Month 3–4: Successful onboarding of new strategic ISP partners in Pakistan and achievement of 100% monthly activation targets.
- Month 5–6 (Confirmation Review): Achieve a 10–15% lead-to-sale conversion rate and meet 100% of monthly revenue and activation targets for two consecutive months.
IV. Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 5+ years in Business Development or Channel Sales, preferably within the Telecom, Satellite, or ISP sectors in Pakistan.
- Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of Pakistan’s rural connectivity landscape; experience with PTA or telecom regulatory frameworks is an advantage.
- Technical Literacy: Familiarity with VSAT technology and the ability to explain complex solutions (such as Gigstarter) in simple, value-driven terms.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering; MBA preferred.
- Languages: Native fluency in Urdu and professional proficiency in English are mandatory.
