Job summary

Dutchess County BOCES seeks a Resident Substitute Teacher to provide daily instructional coverage across programs including Career & Technical Education, Special Education, and Alternative Education. The role ensures continuity of instruction during temporary staff absences and operates within a designated BOCES facility.

Under supervision of building administration, you will manage classrooms, adapt lessons with minimal prep time, and collaborate with staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; NYSED teaching certification preferred.
• Clearance: Fingerprint clearance required before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily instructional coverage across multiple programs (CTE, Special Ed, Alt Ed).
• Maintain classroom management and foster an inclusive environment.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons with minimal prep time and adjust as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
• Use interactive whiteboards and online learning tools (Google Classroom).
