Job summary

Dutchess County BOCES is seeking a Teaching Assistant for Crisis Intervention at Resilience Academy. The role focuses on trauma, mental health emergencies, and de-escalation, providing instructional and experiential support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an educationally related field.
• Crisis Intervention training as a Crisis Intervention Worker.
• Three years of direct experience with students in an educational setting.
• Ability to effectively support students in crisis and help them learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students on special instructional projects including life space interviews and anger replacement strategies; perform related teaching assistant work as required.
• Provide the teacher with information about students to assist in the development of appropriate learning experiences.
• Assist in instructional programs and behavior management by managing disruptive, assaultive, and out-of-control student behavior using therapeutic physical intervention strategies as needed.
• Perform related teaching assistant work as required.
