Job summary

Pakistan seeks a Lead PMU-Solar engineer to oversee civil and structural activities for utility-scale PV/BESS sites, ensuring safe mounting and rooftop suitability. You will coordinate with design and supervision consultants to maintain quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.

The role requires a BE/BSc in Civil Engineering with 10+ years post-qualification experience, including 5 years in site supervision and infrastructure EPC projects. Seismic/mo mountainous work is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (HEC-recognized) required.
• At least 10 years post-qualification civil engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in site supervision and structural/foundation works.
• Experience with solar PV mounting structures desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor civil and structural activities for PV mounting systems, BESS foundations, and related site works.
• Review geotechnical, foundation, and rooftop-load assessments against specs.
• Observe materials, field testing, concrete/steel quality, and site surveys.
• Ensure rooftop structural suitability and safe mounting arrangements documented before installation.
• Coordinate dependencies with WPD GB for land, access roads, grid-infrastructure civil works and non-solar tasks.
• Support civil works close-out, as-built documentation and handover.

Role purpose
Lead PMU-Solar oversight of civil and structural works for utility-scale PV/BESS sites and structural suitability of the rooftop PV component, in coordination with appointed design/supervision consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor civil and structural activities for PV mounting systems, equipment/BESS foundations, internal site works, drainage, buildings and fencing that fall within solar EPC packages.
• Review consultant/contractor geotechnical, foundation, structural and rooftop-load assessments for adequacy against approved specifications and site-specific requirements.
• Monitor materials and workmanship, field testing, concrete/steel quality, site surveys, progress, defects and remedial measures in cooperation with the responsible consultant.
• Ensure that rooftop structural suitability and safe mounting arrangements are documented for relevant buildings; escalate deficient or unverified assessments before installation proceeds.
• Coordinate dependencies with W&PD GB for land, access roads, grid-infrastructure civil works and other non-solar responsibilities.
• Review civil progress/measurement evidence, environmental and OHS observations and contractor documentation for referral through appropriate supervision, TPV and payment approval processes.
• Support civil works close-out, as-built documentation and handover for operation and maintenance.

Minimum eligibility

• Qualification: Four-year B.E./B.Sc./B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.
• Experience: At least 10 years of relevant post-qualification civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years in site supervision, structural/foundation works, construction quality assurance or comparable infrastructure EPC projects. Demonstrated competence in structural drawings, foundations, geotechnical information, site measurements and concrete/steel quality assurance.
• Preferred Experience: Experience of solar PV mounting structures, rooftop structural assessments and construction in mountainous or seismic terrain is desirable.
