Job summary

Private Power & Infrastructure Board (PPIB) invites applications for a Resident Engineer – Civil (PPS-10) on a contract basis. The role focuses on leading PMU-Solar oversight of civil and structural works for utility-scale PV/BESS sites and rooftop structural assessments for building integration.

The ideal candidate holds a four-year civil engineering degree with at least ten years of relevant experience, including five in site supervision and QA for major infrastructure EPC projects.

Qualifications

• Four-year B.E./B.Sc./B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an HE C-recognized university.
• At least 10 years of post-qualification civil engineering experience, including 5 years in site supervision, structural/foundation works, QA or comparable EPC projects.
• Preferred experience: solar PV mounting structures, rooftop structural assessments and construction in challenging terrain.
• Age up to 40 years.

Responsibilities

• Monitor civil and structural activities for PV mounting systems, equipment/FESS foundations, and site works.
• Review geotechnical, foundation, structural and rooftop-load assessments for adequacy against specifications and site requirements.
• Monitor materials, workmanship, field testing, concrete/steel quality, site surveys, progress, defects and remedial measures with consultants.
• Ensure rooftop structural suitability and safe mounting arrangements; elevate deficient or unverified assessments before installation proceeds.
• Coordinate dependencies with land, access roads, grid-infrastructure civil works and non-solar responsibilities.
• Support civil works close-out, as-built documentation and handover for operation and maintenance.

Review consultant/contractor geotechnical, foundation, structural and rooftop-load assessments for adequacy against approved specifications and site-specific requirements. Monitor materials and workmanship, field testing, concrete/steel quality, site surveys, progress, defects and remedial measures in cooperation with the responsible consultant. Ensure that rooftop structural suitability and safe mounting arrangements are documented for relevant buildings; elevate deficient or unverified assessments before installation proceeds. Coordinate dependencies with W&PD GB for land, access roads, grid-infrastructure civil works and other non-solar responsibilities. Review civil progress/measurement evidence, environmental and OHS observations and contractor documentation for referral through appropriate supervision, TPV and payment approval processes. Support civil works close‑out, as-built documentation and handover for operation and maintenance. Minimum eligibility Qualification: Four-year B.E./B.Sc./B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university. Experience: At least 10 years of relevant post-qualification civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years in site supervision, structural/foundation works, construction quality assurance or comparable infrastructure EPC projects. Demonstrated competence in structural drawings, foundations, geotechnical information, site measurements and concrete/steel quality assurance. Preferred Experience: Experience of solar PV mounting structures, rooftop structural assessments and construction in mountainous or seismic terrain is desirable. Age: 40 years.
