Job summary

Oemberg is seeking an experienced SQA Lead Automation Engineer to lead quality engineering and test automation across web, mobile, and API platforms.

You will architect and maintain scalable automation suites, drive the automation strategy in Agile sprints, mentor QA engineers, and ensure integration with CI/CD pipelines.

This fully remote role requires strong English communication and hands-on expertise in Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, and modern testing tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software quality assurance experience, with 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
• Hands-on experience designing and building test automation frameworks from scratch (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium).
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for test automation (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java).
• Extensive experience with API testing and automation (Postman, REST Assured, or Supertest).
• Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into modern CI/CD workflows and containerized environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, QA best practices, and test-driven development.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills in professional English.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API platforms.
• Drive the overall test automation strategy and guide the transition from manual testing to automated pipelines.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
• Define quality metrics, track defect resolution, and report test coverage to engineering leadership.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, software developers, and DevOps engineers throughout the SDLC.
• Perform code reviews for test automation scripts and ensure clean code standards.
• Lead, mentor, and coach QA engineers in automation tooling and methodologies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for production bugs and complex defects.
• Support performance, load, and security testing initiatives.
