Job summary

Estudiar: Partner in Development is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a full-time on-site role based in Peshawar. You will prepare and review BOQs, monitor project costs, support budget development and cost planning for construction and infrastructure projects.

You will track expenditures, produce cost reports, analyze variations, advise teams on cost implications and financial risks, and ensure compliance with donor standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Experience with BOQ, cost control, and reporting.
• Ability to work on-site in Peshawar and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract and procurement procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Quantity Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Peshawar. The role involves preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), monitoring project costs, and supporting budget development and cost planning for construction and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day tasks include tracking expenditures, preparing cost reports, analyzing variations, and advising project teams on cost implications and financial risks. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with engineering, procurement, and program teams to ensure that all projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining quality and compliance with organizational and donor standards. The role also requires maintaining accurate documentation, supporting tender evaluations, and contributing to continuous improvement of cost management processes.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and measurement for construction and infrastructure works.
• Proficiency in cost planning and cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, and value engineering.
• Experience in cost control and cost reporting, with the ability to monitor expenditures and produce clear financial summaries.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract and procurement procedures, preferably in development or public sector projects.
• Ability to use relevant quantity surveying and MS Office software (e.g., Excel, cost estimation tools, AutoCAD familiarity is an advantage).
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Effective communication and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work on-site in Peshawar, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Relevant professional certification or membership (e.g., PQS, RICS or equivalent) is an asset.
• Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
