Job summary

Abbott in Karachi, Pakistan seeks a QC Analyst to support the Chemical Manager in the Quality Control Raw Material Section. Responsibilities include sampling, physical/chemical testing of raw materials, water testing, instrument operation, documentation, and ensuring GMP/cGMP/cGLP and EHS compliance.

The role requires M.Sc. Chemistry / Pharm-D / B Pharm with 1–2 years in QC/QA and adherence to Abbott Quality Standards. The position is on-site at Hyderabad Road, Landhi, Karachi.

Qualifications

• MSc Chemistry / Pharm-D / B Pharm with 1–2 years’ experience in QC/QA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GMP, cGMP, cGLP compliance and Abbott Quality Standards.
• Support audit readiness, QMS initiatives and EHS activities.
• Complete testing, documentation and compliance tasks to meet KPIs and objectives.
• Complete required training in a timely manner.
• Perform sampling of raw materials per SOPs.
• Conduct physical and chemical testing of raw materials per specifications.
• Execute vendor trial sample testing and project-related analytics.
• Perform routine water testing with full documentation.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments and ensure calibration checks.

Job Description

To support the Chemical Manager in the Quality Control Raw Material Section by performing sampling, physical and chemical testing of raw materials, water testing, operation of analytical instruments, documentation, compliance activities, and ensuring adherence to GMP, cGMP, cGLP, and EHS requirements.

Major Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GMP, cGMP, cGLP, Data Integrity, ALCOA, ALCOA+ and Abbott Quality Standards.
• Support audit readiness, quality compliance initiatives, and EHS activities.
• Assist in achieving departmental KPIs, annual objectives, and business targets through timely completion of assigned testing, documentation, and compliance activities.
• Ensure timely completion of training requirements.
• Perform sampling of raw materials according to approved procedures and SOPs.
• Conduct physical and chemical testing of raw materials as per approved specifications and pharmacopoeial requirements.
• Execute vendor trial sample testing and project-related analytical activities.
• Perform routine water testing with complete documentation.
• Perform analysis using analytical and physical testing instruments including: pH Meter Conductivity Meter TOC Analyzer Polarimeter Refractometer Viscometer Karl Fischer Titrator HPLC UV-Visible Spectrophotometer FTIR / Nano Spectrometer Analytical Balances.
• Ensure proper operation, calibration verification, routine checks, and maintenance of assigned laboratory instruments.

Education/Knowledge & Experience

M.Sc. Chemistry / Pharm-D / B Pharm 1-2 years’ experience in the same capacity Knowledge of technical problem resolution, and all other activities taking place in QC/QA.
