Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a GBV Case Worker to implement case management activities in Pakistan. The role focuses on identifying GBV risks, conducting survivor-centered assessments, and coordinating referrals to health, protection, and legal services within IRC procedures.

You will work under the Protection Manager to ensure safe, accessible, and quality GBV services in assigned catchment areas. Strong documentation and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess GBV risks, needs, and vulnerabilities of individuals and families.
• Provide survivor-centered case management in line with IRC policies and GBV guiding principles.

• Develop individualized action plans with survivors and help them make informed decisions.
• Provide safe and confidential referrals to health, MHPSS, legal, protection, and other services.

The GBV Case Worker will be responsible for the effective implementation of GBV case management services, including identification and assessment of GBV risks, case planning, referrals, follow-up, documentation, and case closure, in accordance with IRC policies, SOPs, and GBV guiding principles.

2. Required Qualifications

• Master's degree/Bachelor from an HEC-recognized university in Social Sciences, Education, or a relevant field.
• Relevant qualifications and/or professional experience in GBV, protection, case management, or related humanitarian programming will be preferred.
• Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong IT and documentation skills, including proficiency in relevant case management and reporting systems.
• Strong report-writing skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.

3. Experience

• At least 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience , including at least 1 years of relevant experience in GBV, protection, case management, or humanitarian programming.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing protection and GBV services for vulnerable communities.
• Practical experience in GBV case management, referral systems, protection monitoring, and service mapping.
• Experience working with communities and other relevant stakeholders in humanitarian settings.

4. Functional Responsibilities

The GBV Case Worker will be responsible for the effective implementation of GBV case management activities within the assigned catchment areas. The position will work closely with the Protection Manager, relevant service providers, community structures, and other protection actors to ensure safe, accessible, and quality GBV services.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Identify and assess GBV risks, needs, and vulnerabilities of individuals and families.
• Provide safe, confidential, and survivor-centered case management in line with IRC policies, SOPs, and GBV guiding principles.
• Conduct intake, assessment, safety planning, case planning, regular follow-up, and case closure.
• Develop individualized case action plans with survivors and support them to make informed decisions.
• Provide safe and confidential referrals to appropriate health, MHPSS, legal, protection, and other specialized services.
• Follow up on referrals and support continuity and quality of services , while respecting the survivor's consent, choices, and confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case records and documentation in approved case management systems.
• Identify urgent and high-risk cases and ensure timely escalation through appropriate response mechanisms.
• Conduct community outreach and awareness activities on GBV risks, available services, rights, and referral pathways .
• Coordinate with relevant service providers and protection actors while maintaining confidentiality and data protection.
• Ensure the application of Do No Harm, safety, confidentiality, informed consent, respect, and non-discrimination principles.
• Support the identification of gaps in GBV services and communicate emerging protection concerns to the Protection Manager.
• Participate in relevant coordination meetings, trainings, case discussions, and capacity building activities as required.
• Contribute to regular program reporting, data collection, monitoring, and documentation.
• Comply with IRC Safeguarding, PSEA, Code of Conduct, data protection, and accountability standards .
