Job summary

Biz of Dev is a product consultancy offering discovery-led development. We are looking for a Product Engineer to own parts of client products from question to release, using a modern full-stack toolkit and strong product thinking.

You will collaborate with teams remotely from anywhere in Pakistan and participate in client calls and iterative planning. You'll work with TypeScript, Next.js, React, Tailwind, Node/Express, Python, and cloud tech (GCP, MongoDB).

Qualifications

• Shipped real software and can explain how and why it works.
• Able to own a product module end-to-end from planning to release.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced client-facing environment and documenting work.

Responsibilities

• Own a module of a client product end to end: plan, build, release.
• Bring weekly plans with task estimates and rationale.
• Join client calls and provide thoughtful recap notes.
• Review your work and document it for handoff.
• Use AI mindfully and explain any AI-generated content line by line.

Why We Say Product Engineer

We call this role Product Engineer because the work starts before the code. Biz of Dev is a Product Consultancy that works through a Discovery lens: what is worth building, for whom, and why. So our engineers understand the product as well as the stack, ask the questions that shape it, and own how it ships. Full stack skills are the foundation of the role, and the product thinking on top is what we hire for.

The Role

You'll own a piece of a real product for a client, from the first question to the release.

• Own a module of a client product end to end: the plan, the build and the release.
• Bring your own plan for the week, with an estimate on each task and the reasoning behind it.
• Join client calls, starting by listening and writing the recap, and run more of them as you grow.
• Review your own work, explain it, and document it so someone else can pick it up.
• Use AI mindfully, and be ready to explain anything it wrote for you, line by line.

The Stack

TypeScript, Next.js, React, Tailwind, Node and Express, Python, GCP and MongoDB. You'll know some of it on day one and learn the rest fast.

You'll Do Well Here If

• You've shipped real things and can explain how and why they work.
• You want to own a piece of a product end to end.
• You work alongside the team through the day and share progress before anyone asks.
• You're early in your career, up to about 3 years in. Early is welcome, and strong is the bar.
