Job summary

BESTSELLER Pakistan is seeking a Product Developer with strong technical knowledge in Denim and Non-Denim to lead end-to-end development, bulk production, and sourcing across assigned brands.

You will coordinate wash development, sample development, and timely submissions, while supporting cost negotiations and supplier alignment. Travel to suppliers and Denmark may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with apparel manufacturers, sourcing organizations, or international brands.
  • Experience in Denim and/or Non-Denim product development and sourcing preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Design, Apparel Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Denim washes and wash development processes.
  • Understanding of garment costing and price negotiation.
  • Knowledge of sampling and product development processes.
  • Understanding of quality standards, testing requirements, and production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end product development, bulk production, and sourcing for Denim and Non-Denim across assigned brands.
  • Coordinate wash development, bulk execution, seasonal trends, inspiration, and product development with BESTSELLER brands and buyers.
  • Source fabrics, trims, and accessories per brand requirements.
  • Coordinate collection-wise offer sample development and ensure timely submission and follow-up.
  • Support merchandising and costing teams in price settlement and negotiations.
  • Monitor production progress and ensure alignment with production timelines.
  • Undertake supplier trips and collaboration with Denmark as required.

Job description

We are seeking a Product Developer with strong technical knowledge and practical experience in Denim/Non Denim.

Area of Responsibility

Responsible for managing the end-to-end product development, bulk production, and sourcing process for all Denim and Non-Denim products across assigned brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with all BESTSELLER brands and buyers, maintaining day-to-day communication regarding wash development, bulk execution, seasonal trends, inspiration, and product development.
  • Manage the sourcing of fabrics, trims, and accessories in line with brand and product requirements.
  • Coordinate collection-wise offer sample development and ensure timely submission and follow-up.
  • Support new product and development initiatives from BESTSELLER Pakistan beyond the seasonal collection.
  • Manage the development and follow-up of Offer Samples, First Samples, Salesman Samples (SS), and Pre-Production (PP) Samples.
  • Take overall responsibility for BESTSELLER Pakistan Offer Samples and First Samples.
  • Coordinate and follow up on key account samples to ensure timely completion.
  • Support the merchandising and costing teams in price settlement and negotiations.
  • Follow up closely on production progress and ensure alignment with the agreed production timelines.
  • Undertake business trips to suppliers and Denmark, as required.
Success Criteria
  • Maintain effective day-to-day communication with brands regarding seasonal trends and inspiration, product development, salesman sample follow-up, pre-production activities, and production status.
  • Manage the end-to-end sample development process, including Proto, Fit, Salesman Sample (SMS), Production Samples (PPS), Photo Samples, and other relevant stages, ensuring that all samples meet design intent, fit, quality, and brand requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers’ design, development, technical, and production teams, guiding them on brand DNA, quality expectations, and process improvements.
  • Identify and onboard potential new suppliers by evaluating their capabilities against brand requirements and specific product categories.
  • Identify development challenges and provide timely and effective solutions to ensure that the critical path remains on track.
  • Ensure all developed products comply with BESTSELLER quality standards, testing protocols, chemical restrictions, sustainability requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with merchandising and costing teams to achieve target prices and optimize product value without compromising quality.
  • Participate in costing and price negotiations with suppliers, providing relevant technical and product expertise to achieve competitive pricing.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization during the product development stage.
  • Manage seasonal development calendars and ensure all key milestones are achieved from design kick-off through bulk order placement.
  • Provide regular and accurate updates on development progress to relevant brand and liaison office stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local raw material markets, manufacturing capabilities, production technologies, and emerging industry developments.
  • Support suppliers in Pakistan with seasonal trends, inspiration, collection development, concept development, and innovative product ideas.
  • Support supplier R&D teams by sharing insights on new trends, technologies, innovative processes, and sustainability concepts.
  • Work closely with factory technical teams to identify and resolve technical or production-related challenges during bulk production.
  • Ensure any changes, deviations, or required modifications during production are properly assessed and communicated to the relevant brands for alignment and approval.
  • Coordinate with the Quality team to monitor quality performance and identify and address any quality failures or recurring issues across factories.
  • Raise critical issues and provide relevant updates during weekly Trade and Business meetings.
  • Work collaboratively across functions to strengthen product capabilities, increase business opportunities, and enhance product-level competitiveness within BESTSELLER Pakistan.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration while consistently acting in accordance with BESTSELLER’s Founding Principles.
Required Education & Certifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Design, Apparel Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a reputed apparel manufacturer, sourcing organization, or international brand.
  • Relevant experience in Denim and/or Non-Denim product development and sourcing will be preferred.
Required Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Denim and Non-Denim fabrics.
  • Good understanding of garment product development and garment construction.
  • Strong knowledge of Denim washes and wash development processes.
  • Good understanding of garment costing and price negotiation.
  • Knowledge of sampling and product development processes.
  • Understanding of quality standards, testing requirements, and production processes.
  • Good knowledge of apparel manufacturing, sourcing, and supplier management.
