Job summary

Private Power & Infrastructure Board (PPIB) seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical (PPS-7) for rooftop solar and utility-scale projects in Pakistan. The role supports Resident Engineers through field inspections, progress monitoring and documentation, ensuring safety and quality at sites.

The ideal candidate holds a four-year BE/BSc/B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience and at least two years in field supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in power, electrical installation or renewable-energy projects.
• Minimum 2 years of field supervision, inspection, testing or commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Inspect installation quality and record observations for PV modules/strings, structures, inverters, DC/AC cabling, protection, metering, earthing, BESS auxiliaries and plant communication equipment.
• Review site checklists, approved material submittals, delivery records, test certificates, drawings, as-built records and quality documentation in coordination with supervising consultants.
• Assist in witnessing pre-commissioning, functional and performance tests and maintain punch lists, photographic evidence and tracking of rectification actions.
• Cross-check reported site progress and measurements against approved drawings/BOQs and refer anomalies to the Resident Engineer and relevant consultant/TPV.
• Monitor contractor safety practices and housekeeping; promptly escape unsafe conditions, recurring defects, delayed activities and interface constraints.
• Prepare daily/weekly monitoring reports for rooftop lots and utility-scale work packages as assigned.

Preferred Experience: Site-level experience with solar PV, rooftop installations, inverters, BESS auxiliaries or commissioning is desirable. Age: 30 years.
