Planning Engineer - High-Rise Scheduling & Progress

Job summary

Zameen Developments is seeking a detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting for a high-rise building project. You will collaborate with the Senior Manager – Planning, site teams, and subcontractors to keep schedules accurate and actionable.

Responsibilities include developing schedules in Primavera P6 / MS Project, breaking down activities, tracking progress, preparing dashboards, and flagging delays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 3–6 years of experience in construction planning/scheduling, ideally on high-rise or multi-story building projects
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (mandatory) and/or MS Project
• Understanding of construction sequencing for vertical builds (floor-by-floor cycles, tower crane logistics, MEP/façade coordination)
• Familiarity with CPM (Critical Path Method) scheduling principles
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, data analysis) for progress reporting
• Good communication skills — able to translate schedule data into clear updates for site and management teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and update detailed construction schedules (baseline, look-ahead, and progress updates) using Primavera P6 / MS Project
• Break down activities for substructure, superstructure, MEP, façade, and finishing works into resource- and cost-loaded schedules
• Track daily/weekly site progress and update the schedule accordingly
• Prepare progress reports, S-curves, histograms, and dashboards for internal and client reporting
• Identify schedule delays, variances, and potential critical path impacts; flag issues to senior planning management
• Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to collect accurate progress data
• Assist in preparing look-ahead schedules (2-week, 4-week, monthly) for site execution teams
• Support quantity take-offs and cross-check progress against BOQ/cost data where required
• Maintain schedule documentation, revision logs, and audit trails
• Assist in delay analysis and EOT documentation when required
