Position Name: Planning Engineer
Location: Lahore
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting the progress of high-rise construction projects, including apartment buildings, hotels, and mixed-use developments. The role will work closely with Project Management, Construction, Design, Procurement, Commercial, and Site teams to ensure projects remain on track and are completed within the approved timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project schedules, activity sequences, milestones, and timelines in line with project requirements and contractual obligations.
- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules, including baseline schedules, progress updates, look-ahead plans, and recovery schedules.
- Track actual progress against approved schedules, identify delays or deviations, and highlight critical areas requiring attention.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure activities are properly sequenced and progressing as planned.
- Prepare weekly and monthly look-ahead schedules and ensure upcoming activities are supported with the required resources, materials, drawings, and approvals.
- Identify the reasons for delays, assess their impact on project timelines, and support the development of appropriate recovery plans.
- Coordinate with relevant teams for manpower, material, equipment, budget, and cash-flow requirements based on project schedules.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, schedule updates, S-curves, and other reports required by project management.
- Ensure planning and scheduling activities remain aligned with project specifications, contractual requirements, and approved milestones.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to understand construction sequences and identify potential planning or coordination issues.
- Identify gaps in existing planning and execution processes and recommend practical measures to improve project performance.
- Provide the Sr Manager Planning and senior project leadership with timely updates on project progress, delays, risks, and upcoming milestones.
- Monitor the schedule through completion, including testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover activities.
Qualification & Experience
- BSc/BE in Civil Engineering.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in construction project planning, preferably in high-rise residential, hotel, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies, project scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Experience in preparing look-ahead schedules, S-curves, recovery plans, and progress reports.
- Exposure to project budgeting, resource planning, and cash-flow management will be an advantage.
