Job summary

Descon invites an experienced Design Engineer – Piping to join our Lahore-based team, driving piping design for facilities, upgrades and modifications. You will work with Aveva E3D and ensure compliance with international codes, while producing layouts, isometrics and MTOs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; relevant specialized training is a plus.
• 8–12 years of proven piping design and project engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer sectors.
• Thorough knowledge of international codes and standards for onshore facilities.
• Strong computer literacy and 3D modeling skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping engineering for facility developments, plant upgrades, and modifications.
• Prepare and review plot plans, equipment layouts, piping layouts, details, isometrics, and MTOs.
• Develop process equipment specs, instrument data sheets, and engineering calculations.
• Work with 3D platforms such as Aveva E3D and apply relevant codes.
• Conduct field visits for data collection, site verification, and as-built documentation.
• Provide technical procurement support, vendor document reviews, and construction support.
• Troubleshoot facilities and perform gap analyses between practices and operating plants.
• Formulate Site Technical Practices aligned with core standards.

Position: Design Engineer – Piping

Location: DHQ, Lahore, Pakistan

Join a dynamic engineering team driving large-scale industrial projects. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Design Engineer – Piping to support facility developments, detailed engineering, and plant upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead piping engineering for facility developments, plant upgrades, and modifications.
• Prepare and review plot plans, equipment layouts, piping layouts, details, isometrics, and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
• Develop process equipment specifications, instrument/equipment data sheets, and engineering calculations.
• Work with 3D design platforms such as Aveva E3D and interpret relevant international codes/standards.
• Conduct field visits for data collection, site verification, and as-built documentation.
• Provide technical procurement assistance, vendor document reviews, and engineering support during construction.
• Troubleshoot existing surface facilities and execute gap analyses between company engineering technical practices (ETPs) and operating plants.
• Formulate Site Technical Practices (STPs) aligned with core engineering standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (relevant specialized training courses are a plus).
• Experience: 8–12 years of proven experience in piping design and project engineering within the Oil & Gas, Petroleum Refining, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer sectors.
• Technical Expertise: Thorough working knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to onshore upstream oil and gas facilities.
• Skills: Strong computer literacy, proficiency in 3D modeling environments (e.g., Aveva E3D), and excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
