Job summary

Systems Limited is seeking an Oracle Database Support Engineer with 3–7 years of production database experience to ensure availability, reliability, security and performance across critical applications.

You will troubleshoot SQL and perform tuning, manage RMAN backup/recovery, monitor health and capacity, handle on-call rotations, and collaborate with development, application and infrastructure teams to resolve database issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
3–7 years of hands-on Oracle Database administration and production support experience.
Strong knowledge of Oracle architecture, SQL, performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
Experience with RMAN, backup/recovery, and database monitoring.
On-call/rotational production support is expected.
Oracle RAC and Data Guard knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide production and on-call support for Oracle databases, including incident resolution and troubleshooting.
Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and health.
Perform SQL and database performance tuning, including execution plans and indexing.
Troubleshoot slow queries, locking, and deadlocks.
Maintain data integrity, security, and availability.
Manage users, roles, privileges, schemas, and storage.
Perform RMAN backup, restore, recover, and disaster recovery activities.
Support patching, upgrades, migrations, deployments, and configuration changes.
Conduct RCA and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database issues.
Follow security, change management, and data governance standards.
