Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Community Outreach Worker for a short-term nutrition project funded by UNICEF in Punjab, Pakistan. The role focuses on coordinating outreach activities, mobilizing communities, and facilitating nutrition screening for children and pregnant/lactating women across seven districts.

You will work in a team and report to the District Program Officer. Requirements include a minimum Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of INGO experience in community

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s in nutrition/health valued.
• Work experience: Minimum 3 years with an INGO or in health/nutrition.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; experience with community mobilization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement outreach activities and provide timely inputs to the project team.
• Engage communities; form peer groups and community health committees; conduct meetings.
• Facilitate nutrition screening of children and pregnant/lactating women at village level.
• Coordinate with peer groups to track referrals and follow up on identified cases.
• Run awareness campaigns on nutrition and related topics; keep communities informed.
• Collect attendance data, submit weekly reports, and ensure data quality.
• Report protection issues and support development of key messages and materials.
• Perform other project tasks as assigned by supervisor.
