Job summary

foodpanda, part of the Delivery Hero Group, seeks a Senior Tax Leader in Karachi to oversee tax compliance, advisory, audits and litigation for the Pakistan business. You will lead a team of three tax professionals and coordinate with regional and central Tax teams to drive tax efficiency.

Applicants should have ACCA/CA/ACA/CPA or equivalent, 7–10 years in taxation, and strong knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws. E-commerce experience and SAP exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CA, ACA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 7–10 years of taxation experience, preferably with a Big Four firm and/or a multinational organization.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan's direct and indirect tax laws.
• Experience in tax compliance, tax advisory, tax audits, and tax litigation.
• Experience in the e-commerce, online marketplace, or technology sector is preferred.
• Exposure to SAP and tax technology solutions will be an added advantage.

Job Description

Tax Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct and indirect tax returns, statements, and statutory submissions.


• Ensure timely payment of taxes and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.


• Monitor changes in tax legislation and support implementation across the business.


• Coordinate and ensure timely completion of tax compliance, reporting, and other deliverables required by the Regional and Central Tax teams.

Tax Advisory & Business Support

• Provide tax advice on commercial initiatives, contracts, new products, and business transactions.


• Assess tax implications of business decisions and recommend practical, tax-efficient solutions.


• Support implementation of tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities to optimize tax efficiency.

Tax Audits & Litigation

• Lead tax audits, assessments, notices, and litigation with tax authorities.


• Prepare responses to tax notices and coordinate with external advisors where required.


• Identify tax risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures to minimize regulatory and financial exposure.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of three tax professionals.


• Allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure timely delivery of team objectives.


• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
