Job summary

Bestway Cement Limited is seeking a seasoned Horticulturist to manage horticulture, landscaping, orchard operations, and plantation activities across all company locations. You will lead a team of horticulturists, develop strategies, and ensure high aesthetic standards.

The role emphasizes sustainable practices, irrigation management, budget stewardship, and stakeholder coordination with suppliers and authorities to expand green spaces and improve orchard productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Horticulture or related field from an recognized university.
• 15–20 years of relevant experience in horticulture, landscaping and orchard management.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation, soil, pest and disease management.
• Ability to plan and execute large-scale plantation and landscape projects.

Responsibilities

The role is responsible for managinghorticulture, landscaping, orchard operations, and plantation activities acrossall company locations. The incumbent will ensure the effective maintenance andexpansion of green areas, enhance orchard productivity, and implementsustainable horticultural practices while optimizing resources apart fromdevelopment of new Orchards.

Job Description

• Lead a team of qualified horticulturistsworking at different locations.
• Developand implement horticulture and landscaping strategies across all companylocations.
• Overseethe management of the maintenance of lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, flowerbeds, and other landscaped areas to ensure high aesthetic standards.
• Plan,supervise, and monitor orchard operations to maximize productivity, fruit quality,and yield.
• Developand implement annual orchard maintenance plans, including irrigation,fertilization, pruning, harvesting, and pest and disease management.
• Leadplantation, afforestation, and landscape expansion initiatives across allbusiness units.
• Identifyopportunities for expanding green spaces and recommend suitable plant speciesbased on climatic and soil conditions.
• Participatein horticulture, environmental, plantation, and landscaping initiativesorganized by various organizations, government bodies, and industry forums topromote sustainability and represent the company.
• Overseeday-to-day horticulture operations and ensure the effective utilization ofmanpower, equipment, and resources.
• Supervisehorticulture staff, gardeners, contractors, and service providers to ensuretimely execution of maintenance activities.
• Ensurethe proper functioning and maintenance of irrigation systems to optimize waterusage.
• Managethe procurement of plants, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, and otherhorticultural materials.
• Prepareand monitor the departmental budget while ensuring cost-effective utilizationof resources.
• Implementsustainable horticultural practices and ensure compliance with environmentalregulations and company policies.
• Maintainrecords related to plantation activities, orchard productivity, inventory, andmaintenance schedules.
• Coordinatewith plant management, external consultants, nurseries, suppliers, and relevantgovernment authorities on horticultural matters.
• Supportenvironmental sustainability, biodiversity, and CSR plantation initiativesacross the Group.
• Drivecontinuous improvement initiatives to enhance landscape quality, orchardperformance, and operational efficiency.

Experience and Qualification

• Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in Horticulture or a related discipline from anHEC-recognized university.
• 15 to 20 years of relevant experience in horticulture, landscaping, orchardmanagement, development ofnew large scale orchards.
