Job summary

Zong 5G is seeking an experienced cloud operations professional to design, deploy, and maintain a carrier-grade private cloud for mission-critical telecom services. You will lead O&M for core and VAS platforms (SMSC, OTA, USSD), ensure high availability, and drive automation and platform optimization across multi-vendor environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end cloud infrastructure operations, including compute, storage, and networking.
• Govern resource allocation, load management, and tenant isolation across services and domains.
• Lead end-to-end deployment projects for Core and VAS expansions, aligning with PIP and investment targets.
• O&M of Digital VAS platforms such as SMSC, OTA, and USSD.
• Optimize traffic, retry strategies, and integration with peer entities; troubleshoot protocol-level issues.
• Translate commercial requirements into technical implementations.
• Define cloud KPIs for availability, latency, utilization, and recovery times.
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting with 24/7 operational readiness.
• Drive performance tuning and optimization for efficiency and scalability.
• Maintain inventory of cloud assets, licenses, and spares across sites.
• Design and maintain DR strategies with geo-redundancy and automated failover.
• Drive automation to reduce manual operations and operational risk.

Responsible for the design, availability, and continuous optimization of a carrier-grade private cloud environment supporting mission-critical telecom CS, PS, and VAS Digital services (including SMSC, OTA, and USSD). The role ensures near-100% uptime, robust disaster recovery, elastic scalability, Operations & Maintenance, deployment and network expansions, and secure multi-vendor operations — all aligned with business, regulatory, and network evolution objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

Cloud Operations & Service Assurance

• Oversee end-to-end cloud infrastructure operations, including compute, storage, and networking.
• Govern resource allocation, load management, and tenant isolation across multiple services and domains.
• Lead end-to-end deployment project management for Core and VAS expansions, ensuring project delivery aligns with PIP and investment targets.

Digital Services & Platforms

• Manage Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of Digital VAS platforms such as SMSC, OTA, and USSD.
• Optimize traffic, retry strategies, and integration with peer entities; perform protocol-level troubleshooting.
• Translate commercial requirements into technical implementations.

Monitoring, Incident & Performance Management

• Define critical cloud KPIs covering availability, latency, utilization, and recovery times.
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting frameworks with proactive fault detection and 24/7 operational readiness.
• Drive performance tuning and optimization to maximize efficiency and scalability.

Inventory & Spare Management

• Maintain an accurate inventory of cloud assets, licenses, and spares across all sites.
• Ensure availability and lifecycle management of critical spares to support high availability and DR readiness.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Design and maintain DR strategies for highly critical telecom services.
• Ensure geo-redundancy, automated failover, and regular DR testing.

Automation & Platform Optimization

• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operations and operational risk.
• Promote standardized provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management of cloud resources.

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, telecom, and internal security standards.
• Support audits, assessments, and risk management activities
