Job summary

BAT in Akora Khattak, Pakistan, invites applications for a Maintenance Officer to optimize machinery, minimize downtime and drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies across the plant.

The role requires a DAE or B.Tech in mechanical, 2–3 years of production machinery maintenance and the ability to lead contractual and unionized teams, with emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• DAE or B.Tech in mechanical engineering required.
• 2–3 years in production machinery maintenance.
• Ability to lead contractual and unionized staff.
• Strong focus on EHS, safety and administrative controls.
• Excellent communication and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Optimizing machinery and equipment performance to minimize downtime.
• Identifying issues and implementing solutions to prevent efficiency losses.
• Conducting regular maintenance per schedule.
• Standardizing maintenance processes and protocols.
• Educating team on operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Addressing critical equipment failures promptly.
• Establishing KPIs for maintenance.
• Contributing to maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance.

Pakistan Tobacco Company has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Officer in Akora Khattak, Pakistan

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Optimizing machinery and equipment performance to minimize downtime
• Identifying issues and implementing solutions to prevent efficiency losses
• Conducting regular maintenance as per schedule
• Crafting and standardizing maintenance processes and protocols
• Educating team members on accurate operation and maintenance of equipment
• Addressing critical equipment failures promptly
• Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators for maintenance
• Actively contributing to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance
• Demonstrating strong performance under pressure

What are we looking for?

• DAE or B-tech in mechanical
• 2-3 years of experience in production machinery maintenance, troubleshooting and team upskilling
• Self-motivated and able to lead a team of contractual and unionized employees
• True root cause analysis of recurring losses and timely defect handling
• In-depth knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety, Factory Operations skills, engineering and administrative controls
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective training and presentation skills for developing shop floor employees
