Job summary

READ Foundation is seeking a Learning and Development Officer (Islamic Studies) to design educational materials and lead training for teachers across 9 regions. The role requires a Master’s degree with at least 3 years’ experience in training and material development, strong English/Urdu skills, and the ability to travel 60–70% for field activities.

The candidate will review curricula, develop CPD modules, and coordinate with regional teams and publishers to improve teaching and learning

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in training and material development in the relevant subject.
• Advanced-level command of the subject and SLO-based teaching & assessment knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, training, and facilitation skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Urdu; proficient IT skills (MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Develop educational resource materials including lesson plans, assessments, and CPD modules.
• Review curricula, textbooks, and teaching-learning materials in relevant subjects.
• Coordinate with regional teams for textbook review activities and training delivery.
• Plan and facilitate face-to-face training, cluster workshops, and on-the-job support across regions.
• Conduct training needs assessments and interviews; analyze data for reports.
• Collaborate with publishers, schools, and partners to share best practices and impact stories.

Learning and Development Officer (Islamic Studies)

READ Foundation is inviting applications from motivated individuals with skills and experience in training and material development. Candidates should have a strong conceptual understanding of specific subjects in K-12 education. The selected individuals will be responsible for designing educational materials and implementing training activities aimed at the continuous professional development of in-service teaching staff, cluster-level professional development teams, and regional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Educational Resource Materials i.e., Daily Lesson Plans, Assessments/Tests/Question Banks, Training Manuals, CPD Modules, audio-visual content, concept notes, frameworks, and technical reports.
• Review Curriculum, Syllabus, Textbooks, and teaching-learning materials in the relevant subjects.
• Coordinate with the regional MRCs for textbook review activities.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate face-to-face training, cluster workshops, and on-the-job support of teachers in 9 regions of READ Foundation.
• Conduct follow-up visits and meetings with major stakeholders in 624 READ Foundation schools.
• Plan, conduct, and analyse training needs assessments, focus group discussions, and interviews with participants of different training programmes.
• Communicate effectively with inter and intra-organizational partners for various activities of the core programmes.
• Coordinate with major stakeholders like publishers, schools, and regional teams.
• Collaborate with other staff, management, and members to produce research information, collect and analyse data, and produce reports and briefings.
• Document and share success stories, case studies, and best practices to showcase the programme's impact.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Note: This job requires 60-70% field travel.

Requirements:

Education:

At least a Master's Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 Years of Experience in training and material development in the relevant subject.
• Demonstrated expertise in the development & review of training manuals, modules, and teaching-learning materials.
• Advanced-level command of the relevant subject and in-depth knowledge of SLO-based teaching & assessment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, training, and facilitation skills.
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and Urdu.
• Good computer and IT skills, especially in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in diverse teams.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel extensively to field sites and work under pressure.
