Job summary

Delivery Hero's foodpanda arm in Lahore seeks a strategic Lead Counsel to drive legal leadership, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance across operations. The role collaborates with senior leadership to align legal risk with business objectives.

You will steer litigation strategies, manage external counsel, draft important agreements, and mentor a growing legal team amid evolving regulatory landscapes.

Qualifications

• LLB required; LLM or related post-graduate diploma preferred.
• 3–5 years post-qualification experience in corporate litigation, regulatory compliance, or legal counsel roles in multinational/tech settings.
• Strong understanding of local statutory frameworks and compliance regimes.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Lahore business team and report to senior leadership on legal matters.
• Formulate and manage litigation strategies, oversee external counsel, case progression and costs.
• Ensure statutory compliance and liaise with regulatory bodies and partners on legal issues.
• Draft non-templated agreements and provide official legal opinions on complex matters.
• Mentor the legal team and monitor regulatory changes to ensure alignment with standards.

• Lead the Lahore business team, provide strategic updates to senior leadership on legal matters, and conduct legal risk assessments across business operations to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and risk management protocols.

• Formulate and manage litigation strategies, overseeing external counsel, case progression, cost management, and legal outcomes.

• Ensure statutory compliance, manage sensitive law enforcement inquiries, develop compliance policies, and liaise with regulatory bodies and external partners to resolve legal issues proactively.

• Draft non-templated agreements and provide official legal opinions on complex commercial and regulatory matters.

• Mentor legal team members, foster professional development, monitor regulatory changes, and ensure consistent application of legal standards and operational adjustments.

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree required. Master’s in Law (LLM) or relevant post-graduate diploma preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in corporate litigation, regulatory compliance, or legal counsel roles—preferably within a multinational, tech platform, or reputable law firm.

• Sound understanding of local statutory frameworks, compliance regimes, and protocols for handling sensitive law enforcement inquiries.

• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, with excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
