Kacific Broadband Satellites is seeking an experienced IT Delivery Engineer to join their dynamic and mission-driven team, focused on delivering affordable high-speed satellite broadband to underserved regions in Asia, Oceania, and the Pacific Islands. This mid-level role centers on providing hands-on engineering expertise in customer-facing delivery and Tier 2 operational support within the IT and IP domains. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing complex customer integrations, incident escalation, and infrastructure commissioning. In addition, they will lead the development and delivery of training programs to enhance the skills of Network Operations Center engineers across the region, thereby supporting continued operational excellence. The IT Delivery Engineer will work closely with both physical deployments and remote technical teams, frequently traveling to challenging or remote locations to support project sites and customer integrations. This role demands a strong foundation in project management, agile methodologies, IT service management, and infrastructure deployment. Expertise in incident management and continuous integration and delivery processes will allow the engineer to address complex issues efficiently and support critical network operations. The position requires proven experience with network configuration, Linux system administration, VPN and firewall management, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with RF and VSAT specialists at integration boundaries for successful project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Own the IT and IP layers of customer integrations, including routing, virtual private networks, firewall, and platform configuration from deployment through steady-state transition.
- Support high-impact customer projects and proof-of-concept engagements by providing expert technical assistance and ensuring seamless integration with customer engineering teams.
- Participate actively in commissioning Kacific infrastructure deployments on-site, including point of presence build-outs from hardware installation to live service activation.
- Collaborate with radio frequency and VSAT delivery teams, assisting Service Delivery Engineers with projects that involve overlapping IT/IP and RF responsibilities.
- Represent Kacific technically in customer-facing engineering meetings, maintaining clear and professional communication within the IT/IP domain.
- Handle post-Network Operations Center escalations involving complex issues in network connectivity, routing protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and platform systems.
- Lead thorough diagnosis and resolution of operational incidents, escalating to senior engineers when necessary and providing comprehensive context for ongoing support.
- Accurately document incident details, root causes, and corrective actions, supporting continuous improvement of network management workflows.
- Collaborate with System and Automation Engineers to enhance detection, recovery procedures, and automation based on incident analysis.
- Design, develop, and deliver the train-the-trainer program for the NOC IP/IT curriculum in the assigned region, monitoring progress and certifying participants toward advanced specialist roles.
- Identify and recommend NOC engineers with aptitude for advanced development to leadership for further growth opportunities.
- Maintain and update the IP/IT curriculum in alignment with evolving company infrastructure, processes, and industry best practices.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN network equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls in both company-operated and customer environments.
- Implement and administer IPSec VPN solutions across multiple vendor platforms such as Fortinet, MikroTik, and Cisco, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
- Perform firewall rule management, network address translation, and segmentation tasks that align with service delivery goals and security requirements.
- Monitor network performance by utilizing network management systems and respond promptly to alerts to meet defined service levels.
- Administer Linux-based systems at an operational level, overseeing service management, log analysis, user administration, and performing routine health checks.
- Support virtualization environments, including provisioning virtual machines, monitoring resources, and troubleshooting operational faults.
- Conduct system patching, backup verification, and adherence to runbooks to maintain system integrity and high availability.
- Work independently in remote or field environments, demonstrating initiative and ownership to resolve problems and deliver exceptional service.
- Travel regionally to project sites, customer locations, and high-priority engagements, maintaining readiness to operate in diverse and challenging environments.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to maintain clear and efficient communication channels with stakeholders across regions.
