Job summary

Ziauddinhospital in Sukkur, Pakistan seeks an Infection Control Officer to lead prevention and control of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) among patients and staff. You will coordinate Infection Control activities hospital-wide and liaise with unit nurses to monitor infection trends.

Your role includes teaching infection control principles, developing policies, preparing HAI statistics for the Infection Control Committee, daily rounds, monitoring hand hygiene, and investigating infectious

Qualifications

• Intermediate Bachelor in Nursing is preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in nursing.
• Related short courses / trainings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Confers with link staff nurses in all patient care units on a regular basis to determine the occurrence of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) and ensure appropriate implementation of isolation precautions.
• Demonstrates the ability to teach principles and practical applications of Infection Control to all levels of healthcare personnel and develops Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Prepares HAI statistics/data and reports for the Infection Control Committee.
• Conducts daily rounds and monitors hand washing practices and aseptic techniques to prevent HAIs.
• Collects data on infectious disease patients and investigates infections.
