Job summary

Mashreq Bank PSC in Pakistan seeks a seasoned Head of Remittance & FI to lead cross-border remittance initiatives, manage strategic partnerships with overseas banks, fintechs, and exchange houses, and drive expansion of the NRP and Roshan Digital Account programs.

The role requires proven leadership, robust risk management, and strong negotiation skills to optimize P&L, budgets, and collaboration across Treasury, Trade, and Compliance teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in bank FI/remittance functions.
• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred in Finance or related field.
• Strong understanding of FE regulations, FI trade, financial markets, and remittance products.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability and openness to changing work culture; agile mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage remittance business and develop strategies to enhance partnerships.
• Establish and maintain relationships with central banks and local/international financial institutions.
• Oversee KYC for onboarding FI relationships to expand network.
• Own remittance P&L, annual budget, cost model and margin targets.
• Define and execute business plan for remittance corridors and channels; expand distribution and partnerships.
• Support growth of RDA and NRP by partnering with overseas banks, exchange houses, fintechs, and remittance providers.
• Coordinate with correspondent banks and remittance providers for payment-related queries.
• Negotiate legal and operational documents with counterparty banks (Repo, ISDA, Islamic contracts) ensuring risk alignment.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across Treasury, Trade, Remittance and Islamic Banking.
• Engage with fintechs and remittance partners to strengthen relationships and drive growth.
• Coordinate with IT for remittance platform integration and with Treasury for FX pricing.
