Job summary

Harlyy, a guest experience platform for multi-unit restaurant chains, is seeking a backend-focused software engineer. You will build and maintain backend services in Java and Python, contribute to infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible, and design APIs and microservices.

You should have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, strong backend experience, REST APIs, and the ability to work remotely with autonomy in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development.
• Experience with Java and Python in production environments.
• Proven ability to design and build REST APIs and microservices with reliability and scalability.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and services.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, testing, debugging, and system design.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using Java and Python, developing core product functionality and internal systems.
• Contribute to infrastructure and deployment tooling, including Terraform and Ansible.
• Design and build APIs and integrations that connect products, AI agents, and third-party platforms.
• Monitor and improve system reliability and performance using observability tools.
• Collaborate across the stack, including frontend work as needed, to deliver features.
