Job summary

UN Women Pakistan invites applications for a Programme Support Intern to assist across programme teams in Islamabad, contributing to research, documentation, coordination, monitoring and communications. The role offers hands-on exposure to how UN Women implements gender equality initiatives within the UN system.

The internship requires strong research, writing and organizational abilities, with fluency in English and a genuine interest in women’s rights and development-related areas.

Qualifications

• University studies in gender studies, international development, public policy, social sciences or related field.
• Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
• Strong research, writing and information-management skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day programme support to assigned teams across UN Women projects and thematic areas.
• Assist in compiling, organizing and maintaining programme information, records and trackers.
• Support desk research and analysis on gender equality, women’s empowerment and related themes.
• Assist in preparing background notes, briefs, meeting materials and summaries.
• Support monitoring and documentation of programme activities with data collection and evidence.
• Coordinate meetings, trainings and events; prepare agendas, attendance records and action points.
• Support formatting and quality review of programme documents and reports to UN Women standards.
• Assist inputs from programmes for periodic reporting and donor updates.
• Contribute to communication materials, success stories and event summaries.
• Maintain electronic files and ensure documents are organized and accessible.
