Job summary

Cedar Financial is seeking an experienced SEO Content Writer to produce well-researched, search-optimized blog posts, guides, and web pages for Cedar’s sites, with a strong focus on search intent, E-E-A-T, and readability.

You will collaborate with the SEO team to grow organic traffic, optimize on-page elements, perform keyword research, and format content for WordPress while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience writing SEO content for websites, blogs, or agencies, with a portfolio of published articles that rank.
• Strong understanding of SEO writing: keyword placement, search intent, on-page SEO, internal linking, and E-E-A-T.
• Excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a clear, engaging, reader-first style.
• Experience with SEO and writing tools such as Ahrefs or Semrush, Surfer SEO or Clearscope, Google Search Console, and Grammarly.
• Experience publishing in WordPress or a similar CMS, and basic HTML formatting.
• Strong research skills and the ability to write accurately about complex or technical topics.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• SEO Content Creation: Write original, well-researched blog posts, long-form guides, pillar pages, FAQs, and website copy from SEO briefs and keyword targets.
• Search Intent & Structure: Match each piece to search intent, using clear headings, scannable formatting, and direct answers suited to featured snippets.
• On-Page Optimization: Write optimized title tags, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, and URL slugs, and follow internal and external linking best practices.
• Keyword & Topic Research: Do supporting keyword and topic research, including related terms, “People Also Ask” questions, and entities, to build topical authority.
• E-E-A-T & Accuracy: Produce accurate, trustworthy content on YMYL (finance-related) topics. Cite credible sources, work with subject-matter experts, and follow the compliance review process.
• AI Search Optimization: Write clear, well-structured content that AI Overviews and AI answer engines can cite, with concise answers, definitions, data points, and FAQs.
• Content Refresh: Audit and update existing content to improve rankings, reverse traffic decline, consolidate pages competing for the same keywords, and keep information current.
• Content Optimization Tools: Use tools such as Surfer SEO, Clearscope, Frase, or MarketMuse to improve topic coverage and readability.
• CMS Publishing: Format and publish content in the CMS (e.g., WordPress), including images, FAQ sections, and internal links.
• Linkable Assets: Support link building by writing guest posts, data-driven articles, and other linkable assets.
• Editorial Standards: Proofread and edit for grammar, style, tone, and brand consistency. Follow the editorial calendar and meet deadlines.
• Performance Review: Review published content performance in Google Search Console and GA4 with the SEO team and apply what you learn to future content.
