Organizational Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Pakistan collaborates with the government and its people to create local development solutions, aiming for a more equitable, prosperous, and resilient society aligned with SDGs and COP25 targets. UNDP focuses on capacity building, effective monitoring, and transparent program delivery. Following the devastating 2022 floods, UNDP launched the Flood Recovery Programme (FRP) to support climate-resilient and inclusive recovery, particularly in Dadu District, focusing on restoring housing, livelihoods, governance, and disaster preparedness.

Job Purpose

The Field Implementation Officer will support the Flood Recovery Programme (FRP) in Dadu District, Pakistan, by ensuring the day-to-day implementation and quality assurance of field activities. This role involves close coordination with the FRP project team, government officials, beneficiaries, and other partners to ensure timely and compliant delivery of planned works according to UNDP, government, and donor standards. The incumbent will contribute to restoring agricultural productivity and community well-being, focusing on small-scale farmers and vulnerable groups, and directly supporting Pakistan’s post-flood recovery strategy and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger).

Responsibilities

The Field Implementation Officer will support the Project Specialist in designing and executing field implementation and community engagement plans, fostering strong relationships with government partners, community members, and implementing partners. Key duties include acting as a liaison between the UNDP Country Office and local stakeholders, tracking progress, proposing corrective measures, and conducting field visits. The role involves monitoring field implementation progress in Sindh, designing and implementing monitoring tools, and maintaining a system for data collection and reporting. The officer will also support risk monitoring, including social and environmental risks and community grievances. Furthermore, the incumbent will engage with community members, manage feedback, support the Grievance Redressal Mechanism, monitor the quality of field activities like water supply schemes and agricultural rehabilitation, and implement community engagement plans, with a focus on women and marginalized groups.

Work Experience

Prior experience in project execution/monitoring and collaboration with UN agencies, governments, or NGOs is desired.

Skills

The role requires strong competencies in achieving results, innovative thinking, continuous learning, adaptability, and determination. Essential skills include effective engagement and partnership building, enabling diversity and inclusion, excellent organizational, mobilization, communication, and report writing abilities.
