Job summary

Interwood Mobel in Lahore seeks a Quality Control Inspector to ensure product quality from raw materials to final inspection. You will conduct in-process and final inspections, review drawings, and verify tolerances against SOPs on the shop floor.

You will report non-conformities, support CAPA, maintain inspection records, ensure proper use and calibration of measuring tools, and coordinate with Deputy Manager QC, QC Inspectors, and production teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial/Mechanical/Wood Technology or related)
• Postgraduate qualifications in quality management (TQM/QMS) preferred
• 1–2 years experience in quality control/inspection in wood/furniture
• Ability to read drawings and use measuring tools
• Knowledge of CAPA, NCR and inspection report documentation

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process and final inspections on the shop floor to verify product quality against drawings, material specs and SOPs.

Job description

To ensure product quality at all stages including raw material receiving, in-process manufacturing, and final inspection. The role is responsible for upholding Interwood’s quality standards and customer specifications through effective inspection, reporting, and coordination with production and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct in-process and final inspections on the shop floor to verify product quality against approved drawings, material specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Review engineering and production drawings to identify critical dimensions and tolerances and ensure inspections are aligned with those technical standards.
3. Identify and report non-conformities during inspections, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with relevant stakeholders.
4. Maintain comprehensive inspection reports, checklists, and quality control documents in line with company protocols and audit requirements.
5. Ensure accurate use of measuring instruments, verify calibration status before use, and promptly report any discrepancies to supervisors.
6. Coordinate with Deputy Manager QC, QC Inspectors, and production teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues and actively participate in process improvement activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial/Mechanical/Wood Technology or related discipline)
• BBA /MBA /MS TQM /MS Quality /MS QMS
• 1–2 years of experience in a quality control/inspection role, preferably in wood or furniture manufacturing
• Understanding of basic QC principles and visual/dimensional inspection techniques
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with woodworking materials like MDF, solid wood, veneer, etc.
• Experience with measurement tools (vernier caliper, measuring tape, gauges, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of CAPA, NCR, and inspection report documentation
