Job summary

Indus Hospital in Pakistan seeks a Diploma holder in Medical Technology or Endoscopy Technology to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, prepare rooms, and support patient care. You will ensure sterilization, proper labeling of biopsies, and maintain IPC standards in a busy endoscopy unit.

The role includes equipment checks, waste disposal, inventory management, data entry into HMIS, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Technology or Endoscopy Technology or relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS, etc.
• Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and required consumables prior to procedures.
• Support patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure care.
• Ensure proper handling and labeling of biopsy samples.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and accessories as per protocols.
• Ensure proper functioning of endoscopy equipment and report faults timely.
• Assist in minor troubleshooting and coordinate with biomedical teams for repairs.
• Strictly follow infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the endoscopy unit.
• Ensure safe disposal of medical waste as per hospital policies.
• Maintain stock levels of consumables and endoscopy accessories.
• Minimize wastage and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
• Maintain logs of procedures, equipment usage, and sterilization records.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and departmental protocols.
• Assist in accurate data entry into hospital management information system (HMIS).
• Participate in training and continuous professional development.
• Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
• Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor that is commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
