Job summary

INTECH AutomationIntelligence seeks an Electrical Engineer to support E-House Solutions across Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, and Utilities. You will review RFQs, develop technical proposals, and coordinate with OEMs and internal teams to ensure feasible, compliant designs.

The role emphasizes electrical system design, equipment specification, and cost estimation, with hands-on experience in LV/MV switchgear and related systems. A strong engineering background is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of industrial experience.
  • Experience in electrical system design, integration, and execution in industrial, utility, infrastructure, and oil & gas environments.
  • Hands-on experience with LV/MV switchgear, transformers, UPS/DC systems, VFDs, bus duct systems, and building integration.
  • Exposure to FAT, integrated package testing, technical inspections, and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Review RFQs, contracts, technical specs, SLDs, datasheets, BOQs, and tender documents to define scope.
  • Develop technical solutions and proposals for electrical systems (LV/MV switchgear, transformers, UPS, VFDs).
  • Prepare bid BOMs, MTOs, equipment lists, schedules, and material take-offs.
  • Estimate engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning efforts.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for project delivery.
  • Evaluate OEM/supplier quotations for compliance and risk.
  • Prepare technical-commercial proposals and scope of supply documents.
  • Develop Scope of Work for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams for inputs.
  • Review designs for feasibility and standards compliance.
  • Identify scope gaps and risks; propose mitigations.
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with Sales during bid development and clarifications.
  • Participate in technical clarification meetings with customers.

What You’ll Lead and Deliver
  • Review and analyze project RFQs, contracts, technical specifications, SLDs, datasheets, BOQs, and other tender documents to understand the complete project scope and customer requirements.
  • Develop technical solutions and proposals for electrical systems, including LV Switchgear, LV MCCs, MV Switchgear, MV MCCs, Transformers, UPS systems, VFDs, Soft Starters, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Prepare Bid BOMs, MTOs, equipment lists, technical schedules, and material take-offs based on project requirements and proposed solutions.
  • Perform engineering and manpower estimation for engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities, as applicable.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets, considering equipment, engineering, procurement, subcontracting, installation, testing, commissioning, logistics, and other project-related costs.
  • Review and technically evaluate OEM/supplier quotations for compliance with project specifications, identify deviations and exclusions, and assess their technical and commercial impact.
  • Prepare technical-commercial proposals, including technical write-ups, compliance statements, scope of supply, assumptions, exclusions, deviations, execution methodologies, and commercial inputs.
  • Develop detailed Scope of Work (SOW) for subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring clear definition of responsibilities, deliverables, interfaces, and scope boundaries.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to obtain technical information, quotations, lead times, compliance documents, and other inputs required for proposal development.
  • Review proposed electrical system designs, schematics, layouts, and equipment selections to ensure technical feasibility, compliance with applicable standards, and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Identify scope gaps, technical risks, assumptions, exclusions, interfaces, and commercial risks during the estimation and proposal stage and ensure appropriate mitigation/clarification.
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives to develop technically compliant and commercially competitive solutions without compromising quality, safety, or reliability.
  • Coordinate with Sales/Business Development teams during solution development, bid preparation, technical clarifications, negotiations, and bid-closing activities.
  • Participate in technical clarification meetings and discussions with customers, consultants, OEMs, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary engineering teams, including instrumentation, automation/control, mechanical, civil, HVAC, and commissioning, to identify interfaces and develop integrated project solutions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of LV/MV switchgear construction, protection, control, operation, and maintenance practices.
  • Ensure proper technical handover of awarded projects to the project engineering/execution team, including proposed solution, scope, BOM/MTO, assumptions, exclusions, vendor offers, and technical clarifications.
  • Practical experience in electrical system design, installation, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, VFDs, and soft starters will be considered an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of electrical standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, and applicable local/client standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of industrial experience
  • Proven experience in electrical system design, integration, and execution within industrial, utility, infrastructure, and oil & gas environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with LV/MV switchgear, transformers, UPS/DC systems, VFDs, bus duct systems, auxiliary systems, and building integration.
  • Demonstrated exposure to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), integrated package testing, technical inspections, and vendor coordination.
  • Solid understanding of electrical power distribution systems and multidiscipline package integration.
  • Working knowledge of international standards and codes, including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and NEC.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools. Experience of using AutoCAD & ETAP will be an added plus.
