Job Description & Position Overview

The Driver reports to the Transport Supervisor. Duties include driving delivery trucks, transport vans, and staff cars, transporting sensitive printed documents, gazettes, and paper rolls, performing daily vehicle maintenance checks, maintaining logbooks, and adhering to road traffic safety regulations.

• Safely drive official PCP transport vans, delivery trucks, and staff vehicles on assigned city and highway routes.
• Transport official gazettes, confidential documents, and printing paper bundles to ministries and post offices.
• Perform daily pre-trip checks of engine oil, radiator coolant, brake fluid, battery terminals, and tire pressure.
• Maintain vehicle logbooks, recording journey mileage, fuel consumption, and routine service intervals.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness, timely washing, and interior hygiene of official vehicles.
• Report mechanical faults, abnormal engine noises, or brake defects immediately to the Transport Incharge.
• Strictly observe traffic regulations, speed limits, parking rules, and avoid road traffic violations.
• Practice defensive driving under adverse weather, rain, heavy traffic, and night operations.
